Is this 12 valve worth it?

Hi everyone! New to the forum and I need some advice. I'm looking at a single cab 95 12 valve 5 speed 4x4. It has 152000 miles on it and leaks no oil. It has never had any mods whatsoever. No exhaust or anything. The interior is rough but body is straight and does not appear to be peeling paint. It needs all tags to be legal. The guy wants 6700 for it. He said that is as low as he will go on the price. We all know cash talks so I wanted some other opinions as what I should do. Thanks

Down here in south fl that would be a good deal. I bought my 94 for 3750 but ended up putting almost 3k more to get it where I want and I still have oil leaks. Does it have any blow by? I assume no due to the mileage

JUMP ON IT BUDDDY ... I Boutht mine for 5500 and its been a cash cow .. BUT .. its also made me a nice stack of cash and bragging rights too .. :rocking::tu:

I'm thinking it would be a good rig as my first was a 95 single cab dually 5 speed 2wd. I pull started it with my old stroke and ended up putting a whole front end and tires on it for 3 k before repairs. I miss it. Sold it for a steal. If he has it in 2 weeks I'll probly hop on it. I'm gonna try and leave it stock but its hard not to pipe it at least.

It'll be better off modified, baby.

4x4manonbroke 09-28-2014 05:33 PM

You litterly are better off modifying it .. power, Effenciency,Towing, MPG .. all better with the "CORRECT" mods :tu:

Bradtex25 09-28-2014 05:41 PM

It will be stock. Just tuned. If I can get close to 300 HP with tuning alone I'm good..... For now lol

JBearSVT 09-28-2014 07:26 PM

There's a word for that. Two, actually: "not stock".

Bradtex25 09-28-2014 07:50 PM

Lol I know. I just going the poor mans route for power. Plus I like to tinker. Budget power would be better than stock. I meant power with nothing other than stock components. I hope the truck is still available in 2 weeks.

JBearSVT 09-28-2014 07:56 PM

Me too! Good luck.

there is no poor mans route on a 6bt. As I am finding out, they are that cheap. that 300hp mark is less to get on a 6bt than a friggin clutch to hold it, if my pricing is about right.

When ya wanna play, Ya Gotta pay !!!! :tu:

Do you know yet where the oil leak is coming from? Also there are ways to reliably boost a truck like this at a decent price. Throw 300 HP out the window, go for for 500+/ Let me know how I can help/advise

4x4manonbroke 09-30-2014 10:15 AM

Umm .. 500hp will cost ya a minimum of about 8K to build correct .. ( drivetrain not in cluded ) ... different than a gasser as we make so much TQ.. nothing stock lives behind a 50hp Diesel anything unless its in a big rig .. I have replaced many parts on the big stuff due to retards ploping a tuner in thier ( MACK, PB, KW, ETC ..) ... just to make a few more ponies .. killing U-joints, driveshafts, Clutches, diffs, Etc ..

Your advise would likley be a Hazard to someone Unknowingly listning and causing harm to thier engine ...

Just Advise from 20+ years under the hood .. not dissin ya .. Sure you know how to make it happen .. just be careful about the advise you hand out ... Were here to advise Intellegently .. no one wants to see another guys Bread winner truck go down .. :td:
