Irritating fuel problem
 

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and from what I've read, I don't think this is a noob question.

So i have a 94 cummins, just installed fuel pressure guage, replaced overflow valve, and checked shutoff solenoid and everything seems to work fine. Only problem is it wont start. I pulled off a hard line going to an injector and its not getting any fuel at all. It gets about 30Psi of fuel pressure at the banjo bolt going into the IP when cranking, and the shutoff solenoid kicks up when I bump the starter.
I figured if the injection pump was bad it would still move fuel, just with not much pressure.
Any ideas on what i need to check out or replace?
Any help would be great. I am prepared to buy an injection pump, but if I can save the $1800 that would be fantastic.

Disconnect the FSS and push it all the way up by hand as someone cranks it.

Tried that, still no fuel at all coming out of the Injection Pump.
Anything else I should try?
And can someone confirm that even a worn out Injector Pump will still move some fuel? Or should I go ahead and order a new one?

I'd dig a little deeper before buying a new injector pump. I found out the hard way once that parts like that are non refundable after you install them

Was this running then after you did the work it would not start again? my bet is you have air in the system still, crack all the lines at the pump and bleed them, if still no start loosen 1-3 injector lines and see if you have fuel if not try bleeding them at the injectors.

No. It was running, then spuddered a little, shot some white smoke then cut off and wouldn't start back up. That's when I did all the work

Also, I have loosened up 4 of the 6 injectors and there is no fuel coming out of the pump for any of the 4.

Have you cracked the Banjo what you are taking the pressure reading at going into the IP to be sure you are seeing fuel at that point? Have you tried the primer on the LP to see if you can build pressure on the gauge with just that and see if it will bleed fuel at the Banjo as well?

has anyone timed the pump lately? if so the gear may have slipped.

I checked the banjo bolt, fuel is coming to that point.
When i press the primer fuel pressure does build on the gauge.
when the banjo bolt is loosened and i prime it, fuel does pour out.

I have not timed the pump recently, should i check that?
If it slipped, could that prevent any fuel from moving through it?
