Need info on ofv

I want more fuel pressure and see all these over flow valves, can I buy one and run it with a stock lift pump, what brand or psi rating do I buy, I saw one company selling them as 25hp to 75hp what's all that about

What pressures are you seeing now?
I have no idea how you would get any more power out of an OFV, unless the one you have isn't working properly, in which case any OFV that works properly will return lost power. 25-75 additional HP though? I don't see how. The best OFV's out there are probably the adjustable ones from Tork Tek. Their website breaks down pretty candidly what's wrong with the design of the OEM OFV, and how they've improved it. I noticed my average pressures go up about 5psi with the TT OFV, and I left it set how it came out of the box. I did not notice any increase in power, economy, or any changes in anything at all really when I put it in, other than a slightly different reading on my fuel pressure gauge. This is probably because there was nothing wrong with my original one when I changed it. Yes, it will work fine with a stock LP. If you want to see higher pressures though- significantly higher- the LP is where you should be looking, not the OFV.

A Tork tech adjustable for stock lp and a fixed one for an after market electric lift pump. And you get them for your power rating. I just put a fixed 060 Tork tech in my 12 valve with a air dog 150. Loving it, you can actually hear the pump making pressure now. If suggest upgrading to a electric pump like fass or air dog but that's just me. Obviously funds, time and skill level are the factors to deal with.

I'm a little surprised 4x4manonbroke hasn't chimed in yet, I'm pretty sure he works for Tork Tek.
(not really)

(ok maybe)

it hold more fuel pressure in the IP and when the barrels rize up , there's more fuel because its @ a higher pressure and you get a smidge more volume because of that... more throttle responce as well, i picked up about 1 mpg 1.5 if i baby it ...

started running 2 cycle oil .. will report that too soon enough..:rocking:

I'm pretty sure you saw those gains because your old OFV wasn't up to snuff anymore, not because the new one is a performance part. By "pretty sure" I of course mean that I have no idea, but I digress.

lol.. yeah with low plunger fuel pressure the injection pressure will be lower hence the need for more pressure in the IP, then to the arrels of the IP and then higher injection pressure, that means more power , efficency, less smoke, better atomized fuel .. all great gains ..:tu:

Where can I but one to run with my stock LP

cummins Pride 08-04-2014 10:06 PM

That will increase fuel pressure

Tork tech adjustable ofv. Think it's about 40 bucks. I just ordered my 060 direct from them. You need an 010 I believe.
