wet Floors
I have been having the annoying issue of wet floors and I can not find the leak. The issue is on the driver side front floor will be soaking wet after a moderate-hard rain, or snow melt and the passenger is the same after a hard rain. I have replaced a damaged door seal. I have dumped buckets of water over the front half of the cab. I can not find the leak. I looked at the firewall and it does not show any signs of leaks. Could there be a leak somewhere else?:argh:

Front windshield leaking mabye

Check your A pillar and the body mount for the front of the Cab, rust holes there will catch any cast off from the tires and allow it to get up into the carpet. Windshield surround and even roof lights are big leak spots as well. Bad part about the windshield is that a lot of times you cannot see the leak because the glass is hiding the rust spot or hole that is leaking.

Only way I could tell it was my windshield is because I could see the damage to the roof interior, what I did to fix it was year off the rubber stripping and pour sealer all down the groove across the cab in too of the windshield and put the rubber striping back in

Would rocker panels lead in to there?
|
But still wet when it sits so not solution.. would there be anything at the back of the cab that would leak down?
|
Check your door seals , and the gap between them as well .. :tu:

If your floors or rockers are rotten enough, then there is a chance you are picking up road spray. If it was just the passenger side I would suggest the heater core, however with the Driver side being the primary issue, I would think that you have a leak. There is a chance that you have a bad seal on the rear window yes. Hell I have seen guys install the split seal for the rear window with the split at the top. Have a look.

I took a quick look, the seals at the back of the cab, on the roof, are a little raised up, possible location?
|
yeah that would do it ... :tu:
|
Ok, now what's the best way to put them back in place?
|
I would either r&r the window or use some Window Weld .. its a sealent thats used by factorys to install windshields and side glass.. :c:
Dont be tempted to use silicone of any kind .. UV will break it down real fast IF it will even stick .. been there .. :td: |
Duct tape lol. If the seal is leaking there is a chance it will need to be replaced, they are not crazy money and the R&R of the window is your best bet.
|
Forgive my ignorance but r&r of a window? Is That remove and replace?
|
I was getting in from my third brake light, but it wasn't finding it's way all the way to the front floorboards.
