Newbie with oil leak!
 
Hi, I'm a newbie to dodge/cummins. I recently bought a '94 with 232,xxx truck runs great and has a 5 speed. I love the truck and it runs great. Only one problem, I had the pitman arm leak so I put new gearbox on it. I don't think I bled the system right according to the instructions. Anyways everything was fine till about 3 days later. Now I have a pretty good oil leak (about a 1/4 quart every time I drive) slight belt/pulley squeal, and hard brake pedal () I've done a lot of reading and found a few problem areas on these engines. I'm assuming since I didn't bleed the system that I blew the seal where vacuum pump joins block?? Is the vacuum/brakes/power steering all tied in together? Any help with leak and instructions would be greatly appreciated. It seems like all oil is coming from driver side by power steering reservoir. Thanks

Sounds like its time for a powersteering reseal kit. Only around 15 bucks and basic tools. Basically what your gonna be doing is pulling off the vaccum pump and powersteering pump tearing them apart. And tearing down the vaccum pump. And putting it all together. Im gonna do mine when it cools off today but I went ahead and bought a new powersteering pump since mine has 327k miles and its only 60 bucks with 25 core.

Fuel Filter/Water Seperator problems
 
Ok, fixed the oil/vaccum leak awhile ago now I'm dripping fuel from the little black nipple on bottom of fuel/water seperator. It's just drips but it's steady and usually leaves about a 3 inch circle under the truck after done driving it. When I push the 'nipple' or 'plunger' on the bottom of the fuel filter up diesel POURS out, I'm assuming that's how it's supposed to work? I dunno but I hate seeing ANYTHING leak especially diesel these days

The fuelo leak is the heater .. so ..

Pull the filter off the bottom .. there will be a hex .. 8mm I think ..
Pull that off and unplug the heater ..
Put the heater in garbage ..
Put the pre-filter back on .. re-prime about 10-12 pumps .. should fire right back up .. :tu:
