What's next

I just got my 97 12 valve this yr. so far I put an adjustable ddp fuel plate, 4" exhaust, intake and gauges. I need more power. What should I do next, and when should I start doing tranny work?

Start at the trans .. TC a good tripple billet converter and a VB ... an Input if you can afford to do that ( even better if your comfy doing it your self ) ..

@ around 1K tq ... your input will be really stressed so .. if you plan on pulling you will need an input and a steel set of planetarys ... as well :tu:

Agreed on doing the trans next. A well built trans will feel like a bigger jump in power than what you've done, by a long shot- and what you've done (if you horse around with it) is going to chew your un-built trans up in no time. As for the next step of actually building more power though, slide your AFC housing all the way forward. After you build the trans.

Trans

What stall converter? I don't tow much, my bobcat sometimes but mainly just a street truck.

I like a low stall on the street, you need more power to get it going though. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it's true. Luckily you can get all the power you need to spin a low stall convertor for free just by messing around with the pump.

1500-1700 is real nice .. mine is 1700-1750ish ... pulls like a freight train .. and it dosent lug the engine down and by the time I'm moving .. im nearly lit on the turbo, which make's it no smoke take off's .. :rocking:
