KDP?

So im fairly new to the whole diesel world. Ive seen guys talk about the KDP but never really read to much about it untill now. Now that ive found out it can be a problem I would like to get it fixed before it screws me over. So my question is how can I check to see if my KDP already has the kit on it? And also about how long would it take? And also where can I buy one of these kits? Thanks for all the help guys! Dont bash on me to hard! haha

the only way to check it out is to pull the front cover off the gearcase and check it. my first one took me about 3 hours but can be done in 2 if you know what your doing. i got all of my kits from alligator diesel performance, but one of the vendors on here might have one as well.to get the case off you have to remove the fan, belt, harmonic balancer, idler pulley, and then the front of the case.

If you have a grinder ,drill and a thin piece of gauge metal. (You can make one in about 5mins) You don't need to buy a kit. Just buy a gasket and seal. Be done in about an cpl hours or so.

Or just take a hammer and punch and peen around the pin, and loctite the bolts :c:

Their use to be a fixture floating around that you drilled and tapped the cover and put a screw in it and no need to remove the cover, took about an hour to do it.

That would be an interesting fix if you have a good template that allowed you to know exactly where to drill and got from there. Not sure I would want to drill and tap even with grease with the cover still on the motor and drop shavings in though.

That is why you use grease on the bit and tap. we did 8 of them one night, never had any problems. it was a nice fixture just bolt it on and drill through and tap it, put the bolt right at the end of the pin so it was not going anywhere. They had it over at TDR site.

Yeah and it keeps ya from having to pull all that stuff out of the way like I did ... :ouch:
