http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/28/e5u4yvez.jpg it's not the best picture.. but what size bolt holds this on, one at least is missing.. and there is a bit of play

Just-Another-Dieselguy 06-28-2014 02:19 PM

i think its an m6 3/4" long

RanchhandTCR 06-28-2014 02:58 PM

Where is your idle set at.... Im not sure on the bolt size.

4x4manonbroke 06-28-2014 04:20 PM

Idle should be 850 in gear W/Ac on

RanchhandTCR 06-28-2014 04:57 PM

I ask because they like to shake them selves apart at 500rpm....

4x4manonbroke 06-28-2014 07:46 PM

yeah 500 is WAY to low ... :nope:

gunslingerburkhart 06-30-2014 11:13 AM

I tried to use a 6mm didn't seem big enough... I'll see if I have a longer one and the idle I believe is at 750 w/o ac on

4x4manonbroke 06-30-2014 12:13 PM

Its a 10mm .. you will need 2 wrenches , one to adjust and the other to jam the nut to hold it in place :tu:

I think it is stripped. It is an 8 mm bolt according to the pump shop I drove to

4x4manonbroke 06-30-2014 05:44 PM

Oh dang .. thats not gonna be a fun one ... :td:

RanchhandTCR 06-30-2014 06:15 PM

Oh boy... you can go find a INSERT to put in, oversize the hole and use a jam nut the put in the insert and loctite the insert and put in the new bolt. what size bolt was that again??? Im not sure if they make them that small but worth a look..

gunslingerburkhart 06-30-2014 06:37 PM

Would a helicoil work?

4x4manonbroke 06-30-2014 07:41 PM

a heli might work ... I would try and take a nut tats slightly over sized and weld it to the stud/bolt thats broken ... wait to cool, and it should back out ... It works for me nearly everytime .. :c:

gunslingerburkhart 06-30-2014 08:05 PM

It seems that someone already did an insert of sorts or something.. but regardless it sounds like I'll have to take the pump out

4x4manonbroke 07-01-2014 12:51 AM

Bummer !!!!! :ouch:

gunslingerburkhart 07-01-2014 07:07 AM

The spot looks like an insert was in it, so does one of the other ones with the bolt still in it..

gunslingerburkhart 07-01-2014 07:53 AM

How easy is it to remove the Ppump anyone know?

4x4manonbroke 07-01-2014 10:40 AM

a rea PITA >.... gotta pull the gear, IP lines, oil feed, fuel supply , throttle cables, Etc ...

4x4manonbroke 07-01-2014 10:43 AM

Then after ya get what ever fixed .... ya have to goback and re-time your IP .... that can be interesting .. mine slipped the first time I tried to re time IP ..

Takes skills, I am going to be Keying my IP and getting an adjustable timing gear ..

gunslingerburkhart 07-01-2014 10:48 AM

Would it be with it to have someone do it that knows what they are doing then? Then have timing adjusted at the same time

4x4manonbroke 07-01-2014 10:21 PM

Yes, If I were You, have a Diesel Shop get it done .. if the timing slips , its there problem ... and they will have to fix, for free :tu:
