New to 12 Valve info

Looking at getting a 12valve, before this all I have had has been Ford's. What is AFC? I prefer a 5 speed however autos are in the equation as well. Are the autos known for any sort of troubles?

The AFC Contains several tuning options ..

On P7100 ( P pump ) 12V..

there is a fuel plate, star wheel, smoke screw,.. all of which are adjustable .. unlike the Ford ( IDI ) .. all we have on one of those is basically a fuel plate ( Fuel screw ) to adjust.. and then IP timing ..

yes the factory automatic transmissions is pretty weak and fairly expensive to rebuild.mostly the only problem with the 5 speeds is if the fifth gear jam nut backs off.

Well if you factor all things . purchace price of the manual truck etc..

the auto truck is money ahead, then doing a swap is cheeper in the end ..

The auto truck power wise will take all and more than a manual ( depending on who builds it ) ..

with the manual - will need DD clutch, fly wheel, hydraulics, ( if its not manual price of trans/T-case if 4x4 .. etc)

the auto , count on input, TC, output, steel planetary's, possibly the whole trans ...

if you can buy a manual truck thats set up.. go for it .

I purchaced a auto truck , and am building trans up , then working on building engine from there..

The factor of going fast also has to be considered. You will be further ahead with an auto if you want to race as the NV4500 has never been know as a quick shifting transmission lol.

True .. the auto has manny up sides , but the cost to make them real great is a bit steep, but after that is mainly PM , and drive sensably ..

Agreed. The guy that owns the Trailer park that my parents camp at in the summer had a Built Auto that was according to him warrantied as unbreakable in a street truck. After his third input shaft they refused to keep covering it saying he was doing boosted 4wd launches. His only response was that they should not have called it unbreakable and cover it lol. I know he had over $7500 USD in the tranny, but I am not overly familiar with what a truck with that kind of power would need as far as a Transmission. The guy that bought it has it over 1000HP now and has since replaced the transmission with another aftermarket unit.

yeah @ 1K in tq, they will snap a non hardend input shaft ..
