diff issues

So today I was cruising around and I don't knowwhy but something felt....off. After a while of playing around with a couple things I came to the realization that both my front and rear differentials are ceased up. I have Dana 60 posi rear and didn't look too hard but I believe the same on the front (still new to trucks if I'm wrong correct me). Was looking online for replacements and was getting all sorts of excited off of some I was finding. Anyone have Amy recommendations? Unfortunately I am good at taking things apart and putting them back the right way but I don't know much about what makes some better than others.

it's probably a dana 70 in the rear and a dana 60 in the front.what makes you think that the differential is seized?

Nope have to correct myself. Its a Dana 44 rear. I completely forgot we put the stock Heavy Duty rear back in. I went in to have a oil change when I went to the docs n they checked it. That's what they said was the issue in the rear.

if your diff was seized .... you wouldnt be driving it ... not too sure what your being told but ...... something is off here ... maybe its just me ??? did I miss something ??

Well it ain't going no where now haha. Doesn't exactly enjoy moving at all. I figured it wouldn't be able to move but then again I personally have never done anything to a rear end other than swap em out completely. That's why I was asking for advice

With the truck in neutral and in the air, you can't move the tires? Making any noise? I'd pull a drain plug an look for metal

Good question, could it be a trans issue ?? Bad clutch or something else :humm:

i'm pretty positive it isn't a dana 44 rear.just a thought, have you checked the emergency brake? Or the service brakes? has the truck been sitting? is the brake fluid clean? what do you mean "put the stock heavy duty rearend back in"? and if you replaced a rearend did you make sure it had the same gears in the front? this would cause it to bind up.

Yeah if it has a Cummins, it will either have a dana 70 or a dana 80 ...
