Fuel pressure gauge installed???

I finally got around to installing my FPG and I am wondering if what I am seeing is normal. At idle I am seeing 20 to 23lbs when I throttle the truck in gear it will drop to just below 20. If I step into it, it will drop as low at 16. The really strange part is when I lift off the throttle and coast in gear it goes up to 30lbs. I always thought that when your raised RPM you should see pressure rise to mid 20's. I am wondering if I am missing something here or if this is indeed normal?

Stock OFV? Regardless, it's normal for the psi to drop under load. Momentarily. Then it's normal for it to come back up, higher than it was. If it stays low under load, you have a problem. I idle around 22-26, and cruise around 30. When I stand on it it drops to around 20, then surges back up to 25-30 depending on just how aggressive I'm being. When it drops to 20 and stays there (or just plain runs lower than normal in general) a new filter usually sets things back to normal.

I have the Tork Tek OFV 020. I am guessing that it is time for a new filter and see what that does for me. If it was a lift pump I am thinking that it would be low all the time?

Oh yeah, didn't read your sig for some reason. Anyway, that's not necessarily how a dying LP would behave, but it isn't out of the question. How many miles are on the filter? I change mine every 5K, and I notice a difference on the gauge every time I change it.

I won't lie it has been a while. Crap winter means no filter change lol. I will grab a couple and see what it does. I already have another lift pump as a spare.

Most people do it way, WAY less often than me. I think 1-3 years is normal, depending on how much you drive. That being said, I drive 5000 miles every 3-4 weeks. At which point I do oil and filter change, fuel filter change, grease everything and rotate the tires; and there is a very obvious difference in fuel pressure every time I put a new fuel filter in.

Thanks I will grab some filters tomorrow

May not be your problem, but it's a cheap thing to rule out.
