Straight pipe help

I need some information on straight piping my 12 valve cummins. I don't really know how to put my questions into words so heres my best!

When straight piping the truck, when the exhaust comes down into the cat/muffler, can i put an adapter for a 3" pipe to a 4" pipe then just have a whole new pipe running from the adapter to the end?

4" straight through

Hi,
If you start to piece together components of the exhaust then it will be hard for you to locate parts that will fit correctly.
It is best to just get a 4" straight through turbo back exhaust.
The kit will come with everything you need to get the job done.
Please feel free to give me a call if you need more information.
Thanks,
Dave

i did my exhaust on my 97. i got the 4 in. down pipe and 3 in.- 4 in. weld on flange from source automotive, 1 stick of 4 in. pipe from a local muffler shop, and found an old 4 in. stack off a semi to use to make my 90. i reused all the factory hangers and it exits like the factory exhaust did, only rolled slightly down. All together i have about $250 in it not counting my time. if you can weld you can build your own reasonably cheap.
