Low on fluid or the pump is going out.

nope the fluid is fine i check it every 3 days it has a small leak from were the pump and the vacuum pump conect to eachother. i noticed after everytime i do hard core off-roading with her by the time im done the pump is out of fluid, but thats neither here nor there right now so ya think the pump is out then?

If it's the same as our later models ther's a screen in the pump that tends to clog up. If it's not all the way clogged you can usually chenge the fluid and use a good synthetic and it will keep you going for a while.

well when i look down into the reservor i dont see any screan and would that make a difference even know it turns great with high RPMs and its not that big of a deal to replace the pump that only cost $60 but thats a last resort

The leak is one issue and needs to be fixed.
The low power steering assist is another issue.
