Ended up changing my power steering pump today and when it was all said and done I found a small black hose under my truck. Got in started it up no oil pressure so im guessing that that small black hose os to blame. I did not take it out on purpose so I have no idea where it goes my best guess is by the power steering can anyone help me out? Mabye even with pictures?

almost a 100% sure that it is from the oil pressure gauge because now it will not read it

Coincidence. The oil pressure gauge is all electric. What size is the hose? what does it smell like? I agree that it looks like a vent or vacuum line for the trans or transfer case, unless it's bigger in which case I'd say it's the bleeder hose from the fuel filter canister... although I don't remember that being dimpled for a clamp on both ends. Regardless, unless the '97 was completely different from the '98, it has nothing to do with your oil pressure gauge. What's more likely is that you broke/unplugged the oil pressure sensor, because it's right behind the PS pump.

That's the vacuum tube that runs from the pump elbow to the cowl/firewall. Maybe your oil pressure sending unit just randomly took a cap or for could have snapped the connector off.
