I killed it
well i finally killed the GT special. my trans slips all to hell. i think ive kept the heat to a minimum getting it home, so im hoping for just soft parts and no bluish metal grimlens deep inside.
anyhooo there are several goodies in it. 5 star converter billet flex plate my valve body billet servoes extra direct friction billet input apply lever strut and anchor its a weekend warrior primarily, seldom tow normally empty but it gets driven hard when i drive it. it has a few more ponies than the geo. im looking to put steel planitaries in it and a name brand valvebody. any other neat little parts any of you would advise while its out of the truck? this is a VERY $$$$ limited rebuild keep in mind. truck is in the mid 500hp as it sits with the potential for 600hp |
Bolt-in sprag. Seriously. Get one.

a fresh STOCK trans with a $600 converter and a $100 shift kit and a few odds and ends under $100 buck will hold up to 4-500 hp for years and years. im not directly calling people idiots but some people cant build stuff and some people cant drive stuff and some people just cant do either worth a hoot.

this trans has about 15k of being mean to it and hasnt been in the 400hp range for years and years. minus to 2 cool points for you.
|
Just being a smart ass. I couldn't resist!
|
its ok cool points can be reclaimed. most of the big money is already spent on this trans. it should be a soft parts rebuild... i hope. may up some clutch counts in the other drums too?
|
I would, but we've already established that I go overboard on transmissions.
