I would first check for any dilution of the oil by fuel. Does it have a misfire? If so I'd likely perform a cylinder contribution test and locate the misfire, and follow up with a compression test then a leak down most will likely find the culprit if it's blow by related.

Any oil around the outlet of the turbo? Inlet? Think with that much oil consumption a compression test would be pretty mandatory regardless of external causes. Any external leaks such a timing case?

Probably have a cracked timing case as well. Another oil leak hot spot is vacuum pump. Probably take a look at those after getting a compression test. If you need to pull it for a overhaul you could do it all at once out of the truck and complete the work much faster.

It's possible however the starting point to diagnose the CAD/4x4 system is the vacuum lines at the CAD. Test for vacuum at the lines in 2nd and 4wd. Often it's the axle disconnect which can be replaced with a cable or the factory unit. A correct repair Imo would be the factory part. They typically function fine upto 100k. See no reason to replace with a cable.

I doubt the two are directly related. Vacuum pumps leak due to seal failures but rarely stop producing vacuum. The cover is cracked or the case. If the case is cracked you'll need to pull the cam.
The disconnect is often called a cad (central axle disconnect) or axle disconnect motor.
