non intercooled 2nd gen?

is it safe to run a 2nd gen with an old 1st gen non intercooled intake tube? mounted a 69 gmc ton and a quarter cab on a 97 dually frame and there is ZERO room for the intercooler. have to run electric fans because there wasn't even enough room between the front of the motor and the radiator for the stock fan.

you could with gauges to see what it would run at. Orrrrr...... you could do like I did on my toyota diesel and run a good/fancy looking inter cooler all mad max style on a tube bumper in front of your grill. If you plan on using this as a truck at all, you'll want some kind of charge air cooler.

yes as long as you keep the fueling way down. intake air temps will be higher with no cooler and added fuel will get things out of hand quickly but if you keep the fueling low you will be fine. put some pics of your ride on here i would like to see it.

ill try and post some pics. not sure how to go about it

As far as using it as a truck, the addition of an IC on the toyota (factory was no IC) changed the water temp more than the addition of the 4 core copper V8 radiator did.

thinking about installing a liquid type cooler
