Turbo and injector questions

I current have a pretty stock cummins automatic. It has a blocked gate, full cut delivery valves, pump work, #0 plate, a stack and bhaf. The trans has been rebuilt with a aftermarket triple disk and valve body installed.

My buddy with a cummins shop has a new 58mm phatshaft that he will sell and install everything for $800. Is this a good upgrade over my stock hx35 if i set it for around 40 psi. What kind of power gains will I see?

What injector would you recommend ?

I would recomend you getting studs before you have a HG problem ... those bolts will strech under high boost / timing / fuel added etc ... all add up to a blown HG ... I have one currently leaking under the T-stat housing .... wish someone would have advised me at the time about how timing and such really peaks the combustion pressures.... .02

its al good Trevor ... It was a blast !!! ... while it lasted ... soon to have the gasket kit from Cummins .... might lift the engine enough with the head off and re-gasket everything .... just cause I roll like that ... and I wanna repaint the engine and all ...:choochoo:

Ok. I am planning on taking care of the head already. Can you answer the question knowing that's is already in the works?

is the charger a 57/65/14? compressor wheel number 174424? i think thats the number... anywhays yes that is an upgrade over the stock charger. it wont be a big difference but it will open up the door a bit. i would not recommend anything bigger than a 5x12 injector for that charger. i know of no 58mm wheel for an s300 so you are only going 1mm larger on the compressor inducer. your gain will be from the larger turbine (less restrictive flow) which really doesnt benefit from lots more fuel. i would pitch the full cuts and work on tuning once you install the charger, i believe with bigger injectors and this turbo you will be considerably over fueled.

I agree ... i would run a 62/64/14 and stick with 75's ... that is what several guys here are running and they have great power with little to no smoke .. unless they wanna be dumb and then u can tune in smoke in if you just have to ...:argh::argh::argh:.... and the 62/64/14 is a S300 .. will run circles around your Hx35 all day .. "will support around 450Hp" ... Quote from AirWerks ... So i tend to believe them .. :tu:

I just got a text from him saying the turbo is a switzer?

I'm wanting more air since I have a ton of fuel already. I would love to see it pick up 50hp from just a turbo swap!

62/64/14would ba nice increase in air volume to complement ur fuel ... should be a great uo grade .... and if u want twins u can put a S400 on and will be real nice then .... but the primary is a good stead basis to start from...
