estimated HP

I have my timing at 16*, #10 fuel plate and afc housing slid forward, smoke screw and star wheel adjusted, boost elbow(30 lbs boost), and BHAF. I would like to know what you guys estimate my HP at so I can buy a new clutch. thanks in advance.

what abt torque?

probably around 600. put it on the dyno and see. a stock clutch will hold the power you are making, but if you want to spend the coin and dont plan on much more power get a nice single disc. a dual disc will fight you from day one. they engage very hard and are hard on parts. they do what they are supposed to do and thats hold extra HP but you give up drive ability.

I personally know multiple guys running dual disk clutches .... and while some kits are not as driver friendly as others ther is a bit of extra maintenence required for proper opperation and smooth driving ...

I have herd on several occasions doin a 3rd gear take off to freshen up the buttons on the clutch discs ... as some times they will glaze and chatter a bit ... simple yet very doable .. its all a matter of driver happiness ...IMHO of course ... oppinions will differ and they are onbly a personal thought ... :tu:.. happy motoring :rocking:

well I am happy with my setup but in 5th gear when my turbo is making 35 psi I can feel my clutch slip a little. what is the best way to tune it down a little to prolong my clutch life until I can get a new clutch for it?

I would slide the AFC housing back just a tick and see if that reigns her in. If not, slide the plate back a bit too. Between the two you should be able to get it under control in 5th without completely kicking it in the balls.

also just down shift and take some load off .... if you have to take your time ... either way your gonna have to back off if you want it to last any leinght of time with what your doing .... all good suggestions but one you left out .... let your foot of and shift down a gear ..... either way your gonna kill it ... just depends on how big of a hurry your in to replace it ... its inevetable either way ... if you keep slipping it your gonna need a new fly wheel due to warpage and heat cracks .. cant machine it all out if it's too bad.
