f700 cummins, need help identifying a part

I recently picked up a remaned 5.9 out of a f700, and I'm hoping someone with more experience here can identify an odd looking line for me. I'm supposed to be getting my service manual in the mail this week, but this doesn't look factory to me. :humm:

Looks like a coolant by pass of sorts... will help keep the water pump from lifting head... also will help eliminate air bubbles to escape to radiator .... looks like it should be there :tu:

What does the hose go to from there ?

No idea. I got mine on a pallet. I just snapped some pics of a truck that hadn't been parted yet to get an idea of hose routing. I didnt get the radiator. It was too big, but i did grab the overflow side tanks... So hopefully it goes into those!

no the hose should go into the top of the radiator , steam relief ..... dont put it in a drop tank it will just pump out

Good to know. It'll be a month before I'm mocking up the piping, any ideas what to do if there isn't an inlet for it on the suburban radiator?

if its a metal radiator I would braze a fitting in to the top tank ..... if plastic .... get a metal one ..... not sure what to do with the plasic ones but toss it out .....

I was thinking more along the line of a diesel fired coolant heater :humm:
