Turbo problems need help

I removed my turbo the other day to replace the exhaust housing. Last night I put it all back on and when I started it up made a funny howl noise. I took it down the street absolutly no spool or anything also when I opened the hood after driving the exhaust housing was smoking like it was either overheated or burning something off. Took it for another drive real quick still no boost then all of a sudden i got 38 psi boost and the truck took off and the howling went away. Pulled back on to my street the howling was back and heard what sounds as if the fins are hitting the housing. Also forgot to mention when the turbo was out had no shaft play now all of a sudden it does. I dont know what caused this anyone have any ideas but pretty much sure the turbo is smoked.:argh:

Having the same problem, difference is I never took my turbo off... Just got the Howell just after startup. Don't mean to hijack the thread. Just looking for information.
