Help tranny is leaking!!!
I have a 97 12 valve cummins with 280xxx
Ext cab, long bed, auto tranny When I bough the truck the guy said it had a rebuilt tranny, now I'm leaking tranny fluid, it keeps shifting down, revs up to high rpms and won't shift, but I'm losing fluid somewhere, I looked on the back of the tranny it has a few different numbers and don't know what they are for? Help anyone? Don't really drive it hard never had leaked untill a few days ago. there's 09104, C-17457 4, then there's circle plate with a model number 241 DLD, I'm confused someone please help me :argh: |
241 DLD is your transfercase. It bolts to the transmission using 6 studs with nuts on them, in a circular pattern. Is your transmission leaking or is it your transfercase, or is it between them?

On the front of the tranny there's 2 metal lines, they run from the front to the back of the moter and the run right in front of the tranny pan and there's tranny fluid dripping off them, my whole exhaust on my passenger side is covered none of the seals are leaking unless there's something on top that I can't see? Am I missing something?

there should be 2 nylon/plastic clips that hold those lines in place .... there is a o-ring behind that ... most likley they are deteriorated or just plane out BAD.... :td:
|
Ok what are those lines? Do they have tranny fuild running threw them? Are they just called return lines?
