2nd gen trans questions.
Im in the middle of doing a cummins swap and I have a 2wd 47rh and was wondering if I could use the 4x4 od unit off a 48re? I can get one for fairly cheap. Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

I would contact a trans shop .... but I do believe you can ..... as I recall the 48 had a bigger drum in the OD for the bigger trucks like the dually 1 ton's ...

Alright thanks

The 47rh is hydraulically controlled so it has a governor in the O/D unit. The 47re and the 48re are electronically controlled so they dont have a governor, which you have to have in your transmission for it to work. Many of the parts inside will work for the 47rh though.
