after fixing F-ups still got a couple I need help with.
First off. Got it fueling somewhat better. When rolling hard on throttle n it starts to build boost my egts goes up like a tack. I gotta let out it at 1200 degress. Is it leaning out under boost. I've never checked timing which people are saying timing can cause this heat issue. Turbo is hx40. 4" exhaust all way back.starwheel is cranked full. N the adjustment on diaphram is stud is flush with jam nut. And I have a raptor 150gph lift pump. I'm only getting 30-38 psi. And that with pump regulator to max. Should I try restricting the return line. I just ordered 4k govener springs n 60lb exhaust strings. Any imput would help. Thanks
Heat is usually excess/unburned fuel, so I doubt it's "leaning out"...besides this isn't a gasser we're talking about. Starwheel "cranked full" which way? If it's full forward plus full smoke screw (from the sounds of it "flush with jam nut"), it sounds to me like you are dumping a bunch of fuel at low boost conditions which would logically lead to lots of smoke and heat. Timing could also lead to more heat as a delayed injection event would move the burning sequance later into the exhaust cycle, thus more heat closer to your Pyro. If you are making 38 psi fuel pressure while on the throttle, that's at/beyond the happy point for the P-pump, so DON'T restrict the return any more.
I'd say back out the diaphram nut a little, and bench tune the AFC, checking the boost signal lines upon reinstallation. Then have the timing adjusted to 16 degrees or so.
