97 dodge cummins

97 Cummins 4 wheel drive. I just put a actuator in it . it still seems to not to be getting any vacuum. everything cks out on the transfer case working . any ideas . I am deff a roofer and not a mechanic

Probably a vacum line leak going to the actuator. :c:

what he said. check the two lines going to the actuator on the axle back to the transfer case and to the vacuum pump most are a semi ridged plastic or steel and have rubber wye and tee fittings that get broken down.

ok I ck the lines and they looked ok . I changed the sencor on the axel. still no 4 wheel. should I take the actuator off and engage the wheel to make sure axel is working

I had the exact same problem on my 97, I replaced and checked and double checked everything and never could find the problem! So I said screw it and bought one of these 4x4 Posi-Lok - 4WD Engagement Systems. I have never had a problem since, well worth the money and so easy to install.

How much did that cost

TurboHyde 07-31-2013 11:20 PM

for everything plus shipping i think i paid right around $200, but I got that straight from the companys web site, you might be able to find it cheaper on like ebay or amazon
