need a word of advice , my truck died at the worst time

My cummins , 96 , 2500 auto trans , died on me ... i was doing an illegal u turn and had to put it into reverse to complete the turn , when i put in in reverse , the truck died , so i put it in neutral , and pushed it off the road , then it started again ..... what could that be ? , again , its auto trans , and i do not believe the battery connectors are the problem they are clean and tight

Has it done it since? Changed fuel filter lately, how is fuel pressure looking?

i think its fine , the fuel pressure light doesn't come on to warn me , so idk , maybe water in fuel
and noit only did it this one time, and before i started moving i gave it to revs to the floor to see how it was running , and yes it was warm , and then it died after that when i put it in reverse

It could be your low speed idle screw. My truck did the same thing when I had to abruptly change gears. Your truck should idle in first gear with the A/C on at around 800 rpms. Check that
