12 valve blue smoke
 

Hello everyone,

I have a 95 12 valve, and whenever i am in park and rev it up it will blow blue smoke. It only blows a little bit, not a lot and this is when it is 80 degrees outside, and it has been running a while. The engine is stock and i just have a straight exhaust on it. It wont blow any blue when I am going down the road. And I am not sure if it is oil, sticky injectors or whatever.

I got a 96. I am having the same issue mine is more on the white side tho and does it when I first start my truck and while stopped in drive. Just chimming in to hear reply's and maybe get info on mine as well.

i know that my 96 hazes blue when i first start and for the first 15 or so minutes of it running. but like said above it doesnt when im driving. i think its common with these trucks

Your injectors might be causing the bluish haze. I had a sticking injector a year and half ago that was causing that. It could also be valve seals that are getting worn down. I changed mine when it had 558 000 kms on it, and found out that it was an injector as the seals did not reduce the haze.

It might be rings that are starting to go bad, pending on how many miles you have. Do you have any blow by? there is always a little blow by, but it should not be excessive.

I could also be that oil is making it's way up between the rings and you burn it off when you first start it in the morning. A local garage had this issue with a gasser a few years back.

Check your turbo, the seal might be leaking a bit and that would definetly cause a bluish haze.

Does it take any oil? did you ever have to add any oil between changes?

It only has 147,000 miles on it so i dont think the rings would go bad, and I thought about putting 100hp injectors in it later this summer

Get yours pop tested first, it will tell you if you had injector issues. If you don't need to upgrade them, then you can save a pile of money, but if you want to do the mod, then go for it, you will notice a good improvement in power.

You will have to take your time in tunning your afc after you installed the new injectors. You will need somepatience and trial by error. But it will be worth it in the end.

Do you have any mods done yet? Are these injectors going to be the first add on you do?

my 1996 12v hazed blue too till it warmed up but i never had a problem with anything everything did its job right so i left it alone but once i rebuilt my injectors i havent seen the smoke yet
