Tranny bands?
 
So I want to get some more info in this subject. I have heard by adjusting the bands will help prolong the life of the tranny? any one got a link or pics to help me out? 96 Dodge 12V thinks its the 47RE?:tu:

Ok ... one is on the drivers side above ur shift linkage .... you will need a 3/4 wrench and a 5/16... Loosen the jam nut and finger tighten the center bolt finger tight ... the with the small wrench u will tighten the center ( which is the band adjustment bolt its self) ... about 1/4 turn ...or 72 in pounds if u have the wrench for it .... then back the center off 2 whole turns and jam it ....... The other is in the pan .... same thought pattern .. back off the jam nut and tighten up the centrr to 72 in pounds .... not pounds feet what ever ya do ... inch pounds only .... once tightened up to 72 in pounds ... turn it back 3 full turns and jam it ...... This will help ur trans shift better and last longer due to lack of slippage wich makes friction and heat which can destroy parts quickly
