hx 35 question

Sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this but

Im rebuilding my hx35 that i got from a guy that got it from cummins and the oil baffle is different than the ones i seen in all the others. It has one that is called a pepperpot baffle (I think) and on the shaft next to the turbine wheel I thought there was only 1 piston ring and this one has 2.

Because in the rebuild kit I bought it had the other baffle and only one piston ring in it. And the turbo shop I got the kit from said they had never seen a baffle like that in a hx 35 before. I Couldnt find anything on the internet on the differences but is it supposed to be like this? How come its different from the others if it is? Thanks

It could be a foreign turbo?:humm:

That turbo shop ended up emailing me again and said It looks like you have a real rare style of the HX35 turbo. You can reuse that part, it looks to be in perfect condition. That your turbo is rare is also the reason that the turbine wheel has 2 piston rings, the norm is to have just one.

The guy I got it from bought it from cummins, so it wasnt the original one off the truck but it was for his 97
