noise isolater and new negative battery connections...
But the torque converter is still unlocking between 50-68mph. The only thing I haven't tried is moving the ground off of the alternater (loops around the front of the alternater and bolts to the block) ovrr to just the negative battery or to the fender. I also heard you can wrap that wire with aluminum foil and electrical tape to keep frequencies out but I figured the noise isolater would cancel all of the noise out...could it just be a weak/bad tc or am I missing something?

Have you checked to make sure your tps is reading correctly?

No I haven't. How do I do that? Tps would cause the tc to unlock?

Yes it can. You can get initial readings by watching with a scan tool. You can also check with a multi meter on ohms. With either tool you sweep the tps and look for reading to drop out. Its best to use a scope but, not always necessary. Also if the linkage has slop in it on a 12v it can cause the tps reading to jump around.

ive run into this before, have you completely unhooked your alternator, grounds, power, everything? and drove it?

if the alternator is the cause it will eliminate it, and your tc will function normally

Well I finally had time to work on it and I tried both fixes that were suggested and a few more. I checked to see if my alternator was the problem by completly unplugging it and taking out the fuse and that made no change. I then used a multimeter to check for ac noise and it passed there too. Finally I checked the readings for the tps/appt sensor and it would not even give a reading at idle (engine off but key on) position. So I adjusted the throttle lever rod until it read one volt at idle position and 2.2-2.9 more than idle at whide open throttle. Took it out for a drive and everything works great. Thanks guys for the suggestions.
