is this a good idea

ok lil info on my truck 1994 2500 cummins 354s auto 47HE so my trans is about to take a dump. no reverse and it wont hit over drive till it warms up. so here is my idea i can not afford a $4500 tranny so what do you guys think about a stock rebuld with a thripple disk TC with lock up switch and possible billet imput shaft boosted line pressure around 175 PSI.
My goal is 400hp maybe 450 as of right now my truck is AFC delete no fuel plate and 4inch turbo back. Thansk guys let me know all the imput you have

nothing wrong with a stock rebuild and a good converter. for the hp youre wanting id save the my money and not buy the billet input. Put it towards a shift kit and deep pan. You should be able to get away with a good aftermarket single disc converter too but, its your call.

So what would u suggest for a tc and think a shift kit or complete valve body. Bc iam going to do all this at one time

Ive used primarily suncoast. Have had bad luck with ats and banks. Georend seems to hold up well too. Idk anything about bd's converters. Im getting ready to try a Diesel Performance Converters single disc on a truck. They have a good price and and seem to have good customer service. Either way on the vb, just depends on how comfortable you are about modifying your vb.
