Won't start in park
Well this is my first post so I hope it ends up in the right place. I've got somewhat if a problem, sometimes as the engine is turning over it will just stop. I can turn the key all the way back, then try cranking again and there is nothing. But I can drop it to neutral and it fires right up. I was wondering if this is a normal problem with these trucks? This is my first dodge. It bothers me but as long as it cranks I'm fine, if just hate for it to not work either way one day. I was thinking it may be a problem with the gear selector handle? Any help?

Sounds like your NSS (neutral safety switch) is not engaging in park. This is why it works in neutral, and not park.

I think I may give that a shot.
What about the shut off on the cummins? I had a 6.0 powerstroke and if the shut off would have been as rough I would have been a little worried. It runs great but feels like a train breaking down when I cut it off |
These engines have a very high compression ratio. They come to a stop abruptly, giving you the 'Cummins Shake'.

Nice! glad to know its not just me lol. Well from the light bulb that just went on in my head i dont think ill worry one bit on replacing my dash. It might shake a new one right apart

a 6.0 shuts the injectors off so its a fast loss of fuel and a cummins shuts fuel off at injection pump, slower loss of fuel

learing something new with every post, that makes sense. thanks for all the input guys
