the real 5th gear fix
i have a 98 ram with nv4500, some pump mods and tunes with different turbo wheel, i had my tranny rebuilt at the local shop since 3rd gear was stripped, there asured me with the updated fifth gear lock nut with 2 allens wouldnt come loose. i went about 1800 miles and the damn thing backed off and i lost 5th gear... so i bought thus retainer and also used the updated nut (this is usable with stock nut) i havent had a single problem. ive read nothin but good about it and it was easy install, its a little more spendy but saves from spending 400 on different shaft, just some pointers for some people that are cerious
