Oil leak drivers side! Please help.
1 Attachment(s)
It's me again. I feel dumb starting a new thread right after my last problem was solved, but here goes. I noticed my truck (96 12v) was leaking quite a bit of oil while it was running. Once the truck was turned off it stopped. After looking around I found where it was leaking from. Attachment 35434Can anyone tell me why it is leaking from there? Is there supposed to be a hose or plug there? Mind you this is on the drivers side down by the throttle linkage. The photo was taken from the drivers side fender with the camera looking towards the radiator.

I'm guessing I get it from the stealership? Just out off curiosity, could this cause any performance problems?

You could but i put a link in my first post to a site where you can buy the part, or go to the stealership if you would like. No performance problems it is simply a housing for a pin that is used to find TDC. You apply pressure on the pin and rotate the engine slowly until the pin pops into to hole on the cam gear giving you TDC.

They are pretty good about getting parts out fast at PDP

:hellox: there is supposed to be a retainer for it too. The stealership will prolly make you wait a day too. If you are near a Cummins counter you could get it there as well. 30 % of the dealer charge.
