$2000 for used 12valve? just the engine
 

Ive been looking around for a 12valve engine to tear down and rebuild. i want a 94 to 98 12 valve. i found a 96 12V at a local auto wreckers they want 2 grand for it. i know these arnt cheap to buy but is that a good deal? or not

pretty high for a 96 engine, the 215hp engines go for that around here

should be able to find a salvage truck for not much more and yank the motor and part it out to make your money back.

Yup too much especially you don't know what happened to the motor or how's it's been stored or how long.
