Weird Problem

So I raced my buddy's common rail last night and stomped it, but something odd happened when i got off the throttle, I was in 5th on the floor, when i let out of it, I thought the engine had died, because the pedal was unresponsive, I gave it more throttle and it started accelerating, but it had a dead miss and was very low on power, when i hit the clutch to turn on my road it almost dies and the idle was surging, after idling in my driveway for 5 mins everything was normal, fuel pressure stayed 60 psi the entire time. Has this ever happened to anyone?

There are guys who could explain it better, but, it sounds like you're getting "rack hung up". I suppose when it really does go bad, it can be at ANY rpms. The part inside the pump that's connected to your loud pedal gets stuck and won't go forward or back, so, your fuel-feeding doesn't change. Happened once, but good, to me about 1/2 a block from an inept service department. Took 3 months, lots of faxes, and countless phone calls to finally have the truck run correctly again. Those P-pumps are good for about 200-250K, but, after that you're on borrowed time.

I was wondering if it could be something with my pump, its got 240k on it as far as I know, i was planning on getting it benched when I got the money.

240K was where mine died.
