crank seal hellpp!!
 
i bought a timing gasket kit to do kdp. it came with a seal, installer, seal saver, and athin black dust shield im guessin.

i used the metal installer and installed the seal from backside till seal bottomed out. NOW i dont see what im suppose to do with the thin black one, do i need it, cuz the stock one didnt even have one? who has done this that can help

Just did my crank seal last week. I never got a thin black shield and I dont leak oil.

I don't even know what your talking about. Never seen one before. Are you tech savy enough to post a picture?

never posted picture before but have no picture , just did a little more research and found not all kits have the little thin seal, it is a dust seal i out on before i put damper back on, mainly for equipment or offroad use thanks for the reply hope this answers anyone elses question that runs into this problem

got it and the dust shield that was seperate went on last obviously, but when i put it all on the seal was tight on the crank, so i thought for sure it would leak since not tight but didnt leak , but i got it thanks

does I go on the oil filler neck that screws into the front cover ?:hellox: doin the same thing myself, mine is a felpro kit.
