97 dodge 3500- need some good info

i just recently bought a 92 dodge and my dad fell in love with my truck but we are having trouble finding him a decent flatnose. but he has found i belive its a 97 dodge 3500 and i need any usefull info on how muh they changed from 92 to 97. im still learning about the 12 valves and i dont know what all changed. like what yeard did they go to the eletric pumps and on the 97 do you have to adjust the fuel plate on it to turn it up. its a 97 dodge 3500 4x4 6spd with performance clutch and some other mods. he is asking 5500. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

97 is still all mechanical. 12 valves never came with an electric pump that I know of, although IIRC there was a recall or service bulletin or something that involved switching to one. Regardless, what you know about your 12V should transfer over to the one in the 97 with very little difference as far as what you can do to turn it up. As for the rest of the truck, you probably won't recognize much. Whoever had that one though was a "real trucks have three pedals" enthusiast... the 97 didn't come with a 6spd. Price sounds low though, makes me wonder where the catch is.

the guy that has the truck has to much money and does not know what to do with it and he always gets good deals on vehicles, plays with them for a while, and then gets board with them, it also helps that we know the guy well. i have not seen the truck yet so i do not know what kinda shape the body is in or how well the 4 wheel drive works. as long as the 4 wheel drive will engage and the motor is sound and does not have any blowby i think its a good price. the guy told my dad that it has a fuel plate to adjust to turn up the fuel pump but on my 92 someone showed me that it has a fuel pin to adjust not a plate.

It's a little different. What I meant was that you can figure it out, vs. the 24V which other than still being an I6, is an almost complete revamp of just about everything in site. For better or worse is a matter of opinion; but making power is a matter of plugging in and mashing the right buttons, as apposed to yours and mine which while not identical twins, are still both a matter of "pulling this pushes that" to make power.

The main difference is the injection pump, the 97 has the p pump and the 92 has the rotary pump. The 97 is intercooled, not sure what year they started putting an intercooler on 1st gens. :c:

1991, I believe. Don't quote me though.

91.5 is when they started putting intercooler's on them.
