afc tune

I bought a 1998 12v 5 speed with the 215 pump it has 4in turbo back and intake, it has zero fuel plate moved almost all the way forward. I don't know what or if the previous owner turner star wheel or smoke screw, my question is I'm not tuning my pump so I can just "roll coal" I want to Max power and lowest egts out of it, fuel plate is moved forward and ABC housing is moved back thanks

No one knows the proper way to tune pump for power and not just smoke and heat? Right nowit has #0 fuel plate with the 215 pump and plate almost all the way forward and Afc housing is slid back, smokes to much and seems to choke? Just back out pre boost(smoke screw) to help the choking at low rpm

It smokes a little when turbo is spooled up just a haze wide open. Just to much before boost up, should I back out smoke screw or star wheel, I want my turbo to little up quicker it lags from to much fuel I hate it

i would for started move your pump back a hair and try backing your smoke screw out. black smoke isnt power black smoke is wasted fuel :tu:

Yes ad heat and annoying every time I shift it does it. Move Afc housing forward or plate back?

when i bought my truck the thing would stall constantly due to being overfueled. turn it away from the engine nd cut down on some of that excess fuel. also if your boots now shaved to accomadate for the 0 plate, your travel will be all screwed up in your afc.

* the afc boot on your shaft.
your honsetly better off ripping your afc completely apart and learning how it works, so that way you can KNOW EXactly whats going on in there. Good luck

It does fine besides low rpms or no boost. It doesn't really smoke when boosted so the star wheel should be fine. I need to loosen pre boost aka smoke screw correct me if I'm wrong? I just want to set it up right thanks

you still have to take your afc out to have the easiest acces to your "smoke screw" its behind the diaprhagm cover..
the tighter you make it, the more stress/tension you put on the afc spring allowing more fuel to come with no boost, so yes. it might need loosened.
