junk transmission
Hey guy's new here and new to diesel's i just picked up a 1994 dodge 3500 2wd auto. Well i have had it for 2 weeks and the transmission line had a leak and i didn't see it so i was driving it down the road and it started to slip bad and it stinks so is it junk...if so what should i do to it. the truck is all stock i am not going to to much to it maybe a fuel plate bhaf and a stright pipe that's about it any help would be great thanks and by the way this site :rocking:

It was almost junk when it was new, probably gonna need a rebuild now. Do it right the first time and do it once, the torque of the Cummins isn't transmission friendly. :c:

REPLACE THAT LEAKY LINE!!! this is a major cause of crysler tranny failure in this era. they are double wall lines and the inner is prone to collapsing on itself which dead heads everything and cuts off the lube circuit to the trans after the cooler. they leak because of the pressure building up behind the blockage.
do a full rebuild with a good converter and valvebody/shift kit autos arnt junk they just need better hydrolics and a good converter. |
