1 gen or 2 gen

Ok i got a 1990 dodge 3/4 ton single cab diesel it is in Awsome shape I just got it painted it only has 61000 original miles on it's a 3 speed auto. Anyways I got a friend who is selling a 1995 3/4 ton ext cab 5 speed It only has like 90000 on it so the question is is it worth it to keep the 1 gen or sell and buy then 2 gen I will most Likely never buy another truck I don't like financing. But I like the fact the 2 gen has the ext cab on it and I do a lot of towing any where from 2500 to 10000 pounds on the occasion so what truck should I role with?

honestly id go with the 2 gen. more options and ext cab. :c:

Id go with the 2nd gen. Motors still good and low miles, 5 speed, and nicer qualities to it. Ext cab would seal the deal for me!

Ya it's just hard to let go of the 1 gen it is just so clean looking and in perfect condition but I am in need of something with a little more room. So a really nice 1 gen with low low miles might be going up for sale

id love to get my hands on a low mileage 1st gen. you should trade for your buddies truck wouldnt that be simpler?

on second thought, youd get more selling a 1st gen with 60k freakin miles on it! especially if its 4x4

Ya my buddy is trying to get rid of some trucks his yard is full. And ya it's a 4x4 truck. I figured I would get some pretty good coin selling the 1 gen I just don't know how much really. The truck looks like it rolled of the factory line.

And what do you mean who the hell am I?

If the other truck looks good i say go ahead an swap if he will! At least ull know the trucks issues.

I was talkin to the 'cummins2fast' kid

Parts are hard to find for a first gen ,that's for damn sure. But when you ride around in a first gen it just feels awesome, like a real truck.
Parts are abundant for the second gens but can be expensive since popularity is also abundant.
Drivetrain parts are available anywhere for both though.
The simplicity of the first gen is better.
The first gen will get better mpg sense it's lighter.
The drive train is a lot better in second gen. The only experiance I have with automatics is bad. So I stay away from autos like the plague.

Personally I'd stick with the first gen since its the cockroach of trucks, and the value seems to go up everyday.
The space and comfort and motor of the second gen is hard to beat.

I think the solution is a 1985 crew cab, p pumped, 4x4, 3rd gen interior
