You tell me

Putting a diff engine in my truck friday, consists of a 160 cummins. timed at 16.5* with a 6 plate, boost elbow, dual disk clutch and input shaft. thinking about going with a single stack, it has a flat bed and i think it'd look nice. Now the question is do you think the truck is going to smoke enough to look good?????? i just don't like stacks that don't roll a little coal you know? what do you guys think?!?!?!?

Red_Rattler 11-22-2012 01:43 PM

Be more concerned with making power not smoke... This is why the EPA is on our tails and making these trucks more restricted

RAW 11-22-2012 01:47 PM

X2 on smoke reduction. Keep hogging out the coal, and you'll help introduce DPFs, EGRs, and other emissions equipment to ALL diesels.

P-Pump 11-22-2012 05:43 PM

obviously im not going to (hog it around) once the turbo spools its not going to smoke anyways. so grow up with your :edit:. :dang:

Easy now. You asked a question, you got answers. That's the way a forum works. Be prepared to get the bad with the good.

Profanity is also NOT acceptable in the open forum, FYI.

He is Obviously concerned with power and not just "hogging out the coal". This isn't just some idiot kid who bought a diesel thinking it would roll coal. If he wanted to "Roll Coal" he would have no fuel plate and Google rolling coal instead of asking serious questions on here. He is not looking to leave clouds of smoke everywhere, Just enough which anyone on here does Im sure. Power is king not smoke and from what he is saying he is doing I can see he knows this.

RAW 11-22-2012 06:08 PM

It should roll a thick sausage out the stack. If it isn't enough for you, bigger injectors will make more smoke. They will also help fuel economy, and when more air is added, more power.

No but he did buy a motor with these mods already asking if it would roll coal..... :D your argument isn't valid. It makes me wonder what happened to the original motor....

Red_Rattler 11-22-2012 06:45 PM

Also I fail to see the serious questions he posted?

If he asked about optimal afc adjustment or pump mods or upgraded turbos or optimal injector size or.... The list goes on and on... He asked about rolling coal and if it'd make his truck look sweet

first-gen-tough 11-22-2012 09:34 PM

He bought the motor stock withe the 160 hp setting. He did the work himself and tuned it up the right way. So your wrong yet again. Also the original motor was over heated before he bought it and there was no way to tell so driving it back it over heated again. It has been running on 5 1/2 cylinders for 4000 miles now. afc and pump tunes have already been done. also timing and turbo is coming just waiting on funds. Also no need to ask basic questions a beginner would ask if the answers can already be answered from common knowledge....

Red_Rattler 11-22-2012 09:56 PM

Sounds like you have the world by the nuts... :D you should know if its going to smoke or not then

To the OP, no i do not believe that your truck is going to "be cool". Sorry try again. Your the same age as me, and in no way is it cool to be like everybody else and "roll coll" by any means. Get over yourself. Drive your truk. Let it last like its supposed to. Have a nice day.

Aside from all that coal rolling the drone in the cab gets very old in time.

When is the registration process for Diesel Bombers going to have a spot to check if you want to make smoke and then denies you access to the site for 3-5 years.

first gen tough, there was never any question asked about power it was cut and dry, "is the truck going to smoke enough to look cool?"

Ltk 11-25-2012 03:04 PM

they should have a question like that haha :jump:

have a picture of a truck rolling coal and ask: Is this cool? Yes/No

all yes answers ban you from site :bat:
