Default 94 cummins studder

i have a new to me 94 cummins 4x4 right around 1000-1300 its got a real stutter that completely disappears from 1300 on up and no idle issues. motor has 370 injectors and a #7 fuel plate. i also noticed the person who owned it prior added an inline fuel pump but have no clue the brand or if it is even for a diesel application could this be my problem. i unfortunately do not have a fuel pressure gauge. thanks for any help

How would that matter on a P-Pump motor, all the CPS does is give a tachometer reading ?

I'd check fuel pressure. Should be about 17 at idle n 27 at WOT.
