Fuel Problems???
In the last couple of weeks my 97 cummins has started not wanting to crank. It does fine if I run it everyday, but if I let it set for a couple of days it doesnt want to start. It will crank but runs really rough and cuts back off. Its like it doesnt have enough fuel, I have to keep giving it fuel and messing with it and eventually it will run. Once its running it does fine. Its not cold enough here for that to be an issue. Any helps appreciated.

i have a 95 12v and i have the same problem when its 40 degrees or lower the only thing that helped me was plugging in in everynight

I had that problem with my 96. I ended up replacing the fuel lines at the back of the engine. The lines were cracked, letting the fuel drain back after a day or two, making it hard to start.

sounds like your loosing prime.. go threw the system.. lines heater filter ext. make sure there is no fuel leaking or air getting in.. my budy had the same problem it was his pre heater after a couple days of sitting he would have to hold it to the wood and crank it for a few min to start but once it ran it was fine.. if he ran it everyday it was fine also.. only happened if he let it sit for a while..

I replaced the rubber lines on mine and its been good. Buddy was having a problem with a 24v not starting under 50. Started replacing Sommer lines and found some loose connections and starts fine now. Common one on 12v to take a dump its the rubber one coming of the ofv behind the filter. I use to have a diagram, I'll have to look for it.
