If i was you i would go and buy an ATS build NV4500 and if it breaks before warranty let them deal with it.

ATS doesn't deal with manuals. I called them when my brothers input shaft broke and they sent me to AC transmission they said that's who they use

They sure do have them listed for sale...even as "ATS built"

I broke 7 NV4500's in a 1 year period, turned out my tranny had a cast iron tail housing, mine is a 4wd and that 90% plus of those were machined wrong from the factory, puting the shafts in a bind. I went back to aluminum rear housing and haven't broken another. There is some info on this located on the quad4x4 web site. Might not be your problem but might be worth looking into.

^ That really sucks because I just picked up a used NV4500 a month or so ago to replace my tired Getrag and I'm pretty sure it was a Bluementhal rebuild at one point :( Guess I better trek out to the farm and check the tailshaft housing...

Well I work about 5 mins away from them. This was about 2 years ago when I called them they said they couldn't help me, maybe things have changed. Either way living in Denver you don't hear a lot of good things about ATS

of course im using the rite fluid an correct amount. i only ate a bearing up once, an im sure that was from a couple hard shifts in to 4th getting on the freeway barking tire. dont do that any more. i was excited. but yes pre load is very important for these things.
the 3.54 probably arnt helping any. but as it is i couldnt imagine how shitty it would b with 4.10s. most likely would take alot of stress off tranny tho. but the way i look at it is then i would need to do a front selectable locker an a gear splitter. all stuff i would love to do, but i dont have 6gs to spend on it rite now. im going to look into the tail housing. thats the kind of info im looking for. havnt heard anything about that untill now. on the plus side i picked up an 95 3500. going to use this purely for work truck an keep the hot rod for the weekends an cross state drives.
an i know a lot of u r saying u dont have to do a locker or anything else just change the gears. true but not how i do stuff. if im in there an im changing stuff, i have to tear it all apart an set it all up again, so i would have to do it the way i wanted which is very expensive. i have like 30gs into this truck so far. :argh: i need like another 5 lines in the sig to explain all what has been done. lets put it this way. i have had this thing completly apart to many times to count. weeks of custom fab into it.
