12 valve help
So i got a blown head gasket and while i have the head off should i get it decked and also if i do that do i have to get the block decked too?
|
Probably not necesary with our Iron head, you could check it with a strait edge and feeler guages. Perfect time for head studs :w2:
|
We will not reinstall a head without it being sent to the machine shop first. On average it takes .005-.010" to get them back in spec.
And yes very good time for studs. Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other. |
If you popped the hg, then it needs decked orbits jut gonna pop again. Even with studs

So if i get the head decked do i have to do anything to the block and also do i use a thicker head gasket
|
Good information as I havn't had to do mine yet. :c:

No you won't have to do the block. And it depends on how much they take off the head. There is only two thicknesses. Stock and .020 marine. If they take less than .010 off, go with a stock gasket. More than .010 go with the marine

Even if they take 20 off as long as they reseat the valves it will be fine just swap to 20 thinner coppers on the injecters
