wastegate question 12V

I have a 01 F350 cummins 12V. in order to do the converstion they said you have to take off wastegate. So i bought a stright dump out for exhaust on the turbo. My question is am i not getting max psi without the wastegate? I am pushing bout 37lbs rite now, but a couple of my buds are geting mid to high 40's with about the same mods. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks.

if it is the factory 2nd gen turbo, soon you will have headgasket failure and turbo pieces under your hood. very very bad idea to run without a gate.

Well that sucks. Why my head gasket though.

drive pressure. what your after is like 1 to 1 ratio but with a plugged gate no excess pressure can excape from the exhaust side so if your at 3 to 1 (which is high) lets just use 30psi for example you see 30psi on the intake and 90 psi on the exhaust side. you need to vent gasses with smaller housings. and 40 psi is off the map for the hx35.

Reconnect the wastegate. Use a fooler elbow, and do not exceed 38 lbs. Or like 2332 said parts go a flyin. Drive and boost pressure should be close to 1.1 ratio. Also head gasket will fail at 50 lbs like clockwork.
