07 CLASSIC TRANNY QUESTION

I had a bully dog hooked up in my truck for a short period of time and experienced hesitation between shifts. Tranny problem or related to Bully Dog? Shifts pretty gentle without it but not a 1 to 2 second hesitation.

The hesitation between shifts is likely flaring. Most of what controls how the trans will shift is governed by the ECM tuning (which is what the Bully Dog is altering).

Try a PPE Programmer or EFI Live

Any time you adjust the power level of the motor (AKA install, remove, or adjust a chip or tuner), the transmission has to relearn its shift strategy. So, if you continue to drive it, the transmission should adjust that flare or hesitation out. IF not, then you may have to have the Tap Cells reset in the TCM and perform a relearn, which isn't hard. Last Allison we built took about 30 minutes to "learn" the 3-4 shift.
