Traction bar questions. Please Help.

2007 LBZ CCSB. I am going to be making some traction bars but have a few questions for anyone who has valid answers or has done this before.

1.Is using heim joints on both the axle side of the bar and frame side of the bar a bad idea?

2.What is a good length for these bars to be. (Truck is leveled with a 2" block)

3.Will mounting the brackets on the leaf spring U bolt bottom bracket be a bad idea. I dont want to weld strait to my rear axle. I am speaking of the bracket that is on the bottom side of the axle where the bolts are tightened to hold your U bolts tight to your leaf springs. Its a bracket that has 4 holes and has a space in the center which would be just enough to weld another bracket on to hold the traction bar on.

Any other opinions would be great. I am making them myelf because I am currently going to school for welding so all materials and tools are free and open for my use. Thanks for the help in advance.:tu:

1.i wouldn't from what I have read. (And experienced) the bar tends to rattle more. Use a bushing of some sort at the bottom and Heims at the top.

2. I think it was 50 inch or just over for the length that is used

3. Yes mount it to the bottom plate that the u bolts go through. Seems to work the best. Then make brackets that bolt to frame.
