Diesel Bombers - LBZ PCV Reroute & Resonator Delete

I know this is already on a few sites, but I wanted to post mine up here..

Ok, in this thread, I will show ya'll how I did my PCV Re-Route and Resonator Delete on my 07 Classic LBZ. This also should work exactly the same on the LLY's..

You want to do this because it keeps that nasty oily air from entering your intake and turbo and keeps the inside of your turbo and Intercooler system clean and free from oil. It WILL prolong the life of your engine.

On the other hand, deleting the resonator doesnt "help" anything so to speak that I am aware of.. I did it to clean up the engine compartment.. and it made my turbo a lil louder.. but I like that.

Parts needed:

3/4" to 1/2" Copper Elbow
10' of 5/8" ID Heater Hose
Barstool Leg Caps
2 Hose Clamps
2" Test Plug OR 2" Bolt in Freeze Plug (Optional, this is for the Resonator Delete)

I got everything from Home Depot, except the 2" Test Plug.. they didnt have those, so I went to the Oriellys here in Poteau, and got one of those bolt in 2" rubber Freeze plugs, and some lock nuts that thread onto the freeze plug, and its working fine.

First thing I did was take out the Torq head bolt that holds the resonator, and removed the hose clamp that holds it to the intake..

Then I found the big line that goes from one side of the engine to the other side, and has the "T" fitting in it going to the intake.. Thats the PCV line, and where all the work is taking place..

I chose to remove the bolt on the passenger side of the block that holds the line down, to give me more working room.. I believe it was 10mm because i dropped that socket and havent found it yet.. lol

Then I squeezed the factory clamp from the bottom of the "T" fitting where it goes to the intake and slipped it off. Then, put the Bar stool clamp on the intake and put a hose clamp on it good n tight!

Now take that copper elbow and slide it in the "T" fitting on the PCV line where it was attached to the intake, and re-use the factory clamp for this.

I had to remove this plug from the bracket and bend it up for more working room. Then I hooked the 10' of 5/8" hose to the other side of the copper elbow and routed the line down the inside of the framerail on the driver side of the truck.. you can route it where ever you want. All it does it pump "blowby" air out that line..

Now I got everything to sit down on the top of the motor as best as I could, and reconnected the PCV line with that 10mm bolt on the passenger side of the block.

Once that is done, you can either choose to replace the resonator and youre done, OR.. you can leave the resonator off, and put a plug in that hole. The 2" test plug works fine if you could find one, I used a 2" rubber bolt in Freeze plug with a lock nut. I had to "reshape" the bottom of the rubber plug to get it to fit the way i liked, and then tighten it down.
